Heerak Shah ( Producer / Director / Editor ) is an award-winning multimedia content creator. Some of his most recent and noteworthy accomplishments are his work on a feature-length Bollywood film titled ‘Shiv Shastri Balboa’, a South Asian streaming single-camera sitcom titled ‘Metropark’, a short film titled ‘The Ice Man’, and a music video titled ‘Oak Tree Road’ featuring International Indian comedy actor Omi Vaidya (3 Idiots, The Office). ‘The Ice Man’ has screened at nine film festivals worldwide, and crossed 1 Million views on Youtube in November 2022. His music video ‘Oak Tree Road’ went viral on YouTube with 100K+ views in the first 4 days of its distribution. In the film space, he produced short films like ‘Hurry Up and Wait’, ‘Paraagan’, and ‘Unplugged’.

In the television space, he has almost a decade of experience creating and producing original shows for South Asian audiences in the US. These shows include talk shows, variety shows, NEWS, comedy, sports, and live event coverage. He is currently writing a feature-length socio-political satire based in India.

He worked as an Associate Producer for a feature-length documentary called ‘Quiet Please’, which won the award of Excellence at Accolade Global Film Competition, World Humanitarian award, and Impact Docs award.

After earning an Engineering degree in Electronics, he decided to put his technical skills in the business of storytelling and went on to get an MFA in Television Production from Brooklyn College, City University of New York. He is also trained in the art forms of Improv and Sketch Writing at New York’s Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) theatre. Heerak is currently a faculty member at the University of Central Florida’s Nicholson School of Communication and Media where he teaches television and film production courses.
